How eHow works

“Go 100% or GO HOME!”

If you are new to eHow, it’s critical you give it your all. By that, I mean you MUST write consistently, comment on other articles, make friends, and promote your articles!

Here’s how ehow works: You write “How To” articles about just about anything you can possibly think of! You marketing the articles via organic searches from carefully thought out keywords, and promoting your articles to friends, family, and social media websites. eHow then pays you based on an equation similar to this:

# PAGE VIEWS + # CLICKS ON ADS + # COMMENTS

NOTE: Nobody knows for sure this exact equation. And eHow will not realease it to the public!

Here’s the most common mistakes I come across when teaching people the ins and outs of how eHow works:
1. Writing a few articles, sitting back….. and saying “ehow doesn’t make me any money.” DUH! Again, you need to write daily (or almost daily), you need to choose the keywords with just the right amount of traffic vs. competition, and you need to make a lot of friends. If you do these things and have patience, you can expect to have your mortgage paid every month.

REMEMBER: About 300 articles (provided you are using the appropriate keywords) will yield $1,000 steady income month after month. If you are a keyword expert, you can expect to make slightly more.

NOTE: When I state that I’ve made over 100 times those numbers, here’s my justificiation: 1 of my ehow articles yielded over $10,000 in consulting work (current as of January 22, 2009) that I never ever ever would have gotten. The reason? I leveraged eHow to rank for a very competitive keyword, then wrote a very helpful article that is very high in demand…. and because I was able to get onto page 1 in Google for the keyword I chose (based on the research I did), it made my phone ring off the hook!

Now, I’m not a Math Major by any means, but I think I found really good niche trying to figure out exactly how eHow works. Here’s the math: it took me 30 minutes to write the article, 1 hour to build links into it, and that’s about the extent of my time. The article yielded call after call after call…. and I don’t anticipate it ending for quite some time!

2. Link Spamming. This means writing a link within your email or article that isn’t HOT. The rule of thumb: If the link isn’t HOT, you are placing it the wrong way.

3. Diversifying your portfolio of writing sites TOO MUCH. Too often, I coach people who say “I write for Bukisa, Associated Content, Squidoo, ehow, Ezine, Article Feeder, ………. and the list keeps going.

Can you really be an expert at any 1 of those? I mean, really…. can you honestly say that you’ve mastered anything? If you master 1 site, then move on to the next, you can expect your earnings to rise significantly.

A textbook example of staying focused on just a few microblogs and mastering them would be Link & Smith, P.C. Law Firm. In their first week, they posted over 100 ehow articles! Check out the Link & Smith eHow profile and take a look through their articles to get a feel for a successful eHow article marketing campaign.

4. Getting lax on your keywords.
Remember it’s important to continually enhance your keywords in every single article you’ve written. It’s true you started out ranking for a longer tail keyword… but as you start to truly rank for that keyword, continue tweaking your keywords to rank for a shorter version of that keyword.

EXAMPLE: You started ranking for “how to file a patent in ga” then after a few weeks/months you tweak your keywords to start ranking for “file patent ga” then “file patent” – then one day if you amazingly successful with your keyword campaing, you will rank for PATENT!!! (that’s incredibly difficult because there are milliions of searches each month for that term and the competition is VERY HIGH.
Help me build this list by submitting an article that solves any 1 of the problems I discussed anywhere on this site! I will link the aritlce here… and you can enjoy an increase in traffic from it, and $$$$$
